Wisdom is the
crown jewel of the spiritual heart. We all strive to hold the virtues
associated with wisdom; selflessness, compassion, objectivity, flexibility,
within a deep understanding of life and human nature. We develop these
qualities in ourselves, in order to honor the earth and its people,
to create peace in the family and joy in our own heart.
In this newsletter, we want to explore with you the journey into wisdom,
what is required, and how to access the place of deeper knowing that
unfolds as we open our heart. We want to create a practical guideline
that makes it easy to listen inside and trust the unfolding of your
souls presence. The journey into wisdom takes a lifetime. Often
we are given many obstacles to overcome. Sometimes the same patterns
occur repeatedly as part of this process of awakening. This journey
takes patience, commitment and a good sense of humor.
The awakening process starts by our commitment to the truth, by wanting
to be a just and honest person, living in love, serving our highest
good. This commitment gives strength and purpose, allows us to accept
that everything that happens to us, large and small, is an opportunity
to grow.
The dawning of consciousness happens in stages
We start in the mind of the child. We perceive ourselves as the center
of the universe, defining ourselves in relationship to our desires
and what we want. When we are in the child mind, the world is spontaneous
and playful one minute, dramatic and catastrophic the next. When the
child mind is healthy in us, we are free, spontaneous and creative,
open and uninhibited. But we are at the effect of our environment,
assuming that the world will take care of us, provide for our needs,
and if that does not happen, we feel helpless, powerless to bring
forth change, victims of circumstance.
Finding courage to step beyond the self- absorption of the child mind,
our consciousness grows beyond the small center of self, into our
adolescence. Here, we catch glimpses of greater worlds, visions of
our greater purpose. We choose our life path, following our passions.
A new part of the psyche is born, that embraces a multitude of possibilities.
We feel that anything is possible, even if we have had no experience.
Our ideals carry us though. The adolescent aspect of our self has
tremendous strength. We hear the call to action. This awakens the
hero in us and we feel capable to risk and act from a place of power.
If the realization of our vision is frustrated, depression sets in.
Then we seek stimulation passively, through TV and computers, drugs
and alcohol, both to deny the vision and live it out vicariously through
others. The tendency to blame others for our inability to fulfill
our purpose spirals us back into the child mind of reaction, helpless
to answer the call.
The goods news is that despite our denial, our vision will continue
to haunt us. The call will keep coming until we have the strength
to take action according to our own voice of truth.
When we make a commitment to our vision, we become independent, able
to stand in our own power. Now the adult creative mind opens. We are
able to take responsibility and live with a sense of purpose. We develop
a sense of duty and learn to function in time, keeping our word, fulfilling
our obligations. We align with a sense of rightness that gives integrity
and empowerment to our word.
The down side of the adult is that it can lose its playful side. Life
becomes too serious and filled with rules. It is really easy to get
stuck here. We become slaves to obligation and getting the job done.
Resentment can set in and deep feelings of alienation weigh on our
connection to family and friends. Often there is a desire to escape
but there is nowhere to go.
The way through this trapped space is to move out of our will and
back into the heart. Only with the work becoming creative and empowering,
are we free to fulfill our vision. This requires a spiritual realization
that there is consciousness beyond our own ego, greater dimensions
waiting to unfold as our integrity stays intact.
The reliance of the self has to be expanded into a greater spiritual
union, and from that support, a new set of priorities unfold. We learn
how to take care of ourselves from a new place. Our awareness of spirit
adds a whole new dimension to life. We are able to respond to our
needs. We learn how to generate the qualities that we wish to experience
in the world rather than controlling others to get our needs met.
We learn to accept what we are not able to change and take positive
actions to the things we can. We learn the effect of our thoughts.
We acknowledge the power of our judgments on others and learn to take
responsibility for our own negativity. We learn to be true to our
self and honest with others. This reflective ability is the garden
in which the wisdom mind is born.
Wisdom is a space of knowing. It generates Selflessness, compassion,
objectivity and deep understanding of life and human nature. At this
stage, it is as if we are beginning again, because we are guided and
are living from a space that is beyond the conceptual. Wisdom brings
the teachings we have known previously only in the mind to a whole
new dimension, awakening love and bringing new meaning to life itself.
As we open to greater spiritual awareness, the parts of our personality
that do not know love will surface and ask to be refined. Our suffering
becomes one more tool for learning. Aspects of the child mind, living
in the memory of hurt and abandonment will come forward. Our focus
is then is to repair, to accept and forgive our old perceptions and
release the beliefs that hold these limitations. Wisdom is the guide
through this process of transformation. It mentors us back into the
power of our purpose for being here and gives the energy to establish
balance in both the child and adult mind.
The wisdom brings us the moral of the story, the deeper meaning and
purpose of why we are here, so we can integrate what we are learning.
The voice of wisdom, speaking through the heart, is now the guide
on our journey to enlightenment. It is capable of bringing the principles
of love and truth into being. We trust that. The wisdom of the heart
guides any part of the personality that has lost its integrity. We
learn to love our darkness into light. In the bigger picture, we accept
that our talents, our passions, and our pain have molded the focus
of this life. They are sacred teachers that have given us energy and
experiences to reflect upon, so we could take responsibility for our
spirit and evolve.
Sacred words hold power. They emanate a presence and as we contemplate
them, this power enters our awareness and we become the essence we
are focusing on. Sacred words are Principles, connected to archangels
and deities in all religions. These qualities of Truth, Compassion,
Acceptance and Grace demonstrate the power of the sacred heart in
consciousness. They are the tools of the light-worker. When we are
willing to realize that we as humans are conduits of spiritual power,
meant to transmit love from heaven to earth, then our spiritual presence
draws strength and we are able to make contributions that will affect
the world condition.
