The Power to Transform

The universe is offering us a challenge: to wake up from old power structures and embrace our spiritual journey, building strength, clarity and purpose into our actions. As always, this next step of our evolution starts within and then mirrors out into our greater community. The process teaches us to transform darkness into light-filled awareness. We have to learn to use the power we hold in our old personality structures in new ways. Great inner resources will be shown to us as we take this learning to heart. It takes great strength to hold light. We will be encouraged to build a new circuitry that allows us to claim our spirit and project it into the world. Let us explore the shift that is being asked of us.

In the first stage, we challenge our dark shadows, inside and out, building our light until it matches the strength of the dark. We reach for spiritual resources that offer strength and courage to transform consciousness and claim deeper love and freedom. We are forced to see what is more important, old familiar habits or our commitment to the awakening of the heart. When it comes right down to it, there is little choice. By the time we are thinking of committing to light filled awareness, some part of us is already there. The awareness of the higher self is already penetrating our ignorance. It becomes harder to believe the old stories of victim, helplessness and loss. Ego reactions of fear and aversion lose their grip. The heart penetrates the story of our drama even when the personality is not clear. The idea of living with the re-enactment of our wounded nature becomes intolerable. We want out of the pain.

Being born into times of darkness leaves many scars. We are children of war, inside and out. Part of our personality was formed around circumstances that shamed and belittled our being, creating neurosis. This imbalanced part does not know how to get its needs met, living suspended in pain. It identifies with these unmet needs, living in shame and victimization, feeling helpless to its circumstances. The pain fosters a need for protection. It develops a defensive persona that plays as an aggressive guardian protector. The combination of helplessness coupled with a fierce anger creates a wounded self-identity that vows never to be vulnerable again.

The wounded self-identity can rule our awareness, enslaving our consciousness. This identity feeds off the suffering of the unmet need and the aggressive anger, justifying its acting out. Since this behavior develops early in childhood, we think like children when we are caught in these states. The helpless side looks for an authority, a savior that will come and take away the struggle. It acts passively, feeling there is no choice but to let the world carry on, leaving the decisions as to how our world is formed to the favored few. Then our aggressive side rebels against the very authority it gave its power to. There is no true responsibility in this behavior pattern, no real action for change. It serves only to re-enact the wound and its protecting self-importance. This dramatic play riddles our minds and acts out in our relationships as we work to resolve it. Until we are able to take responsibility and heal the unfilled needs, the wounded self-identity will hold us in a protected feeling of emptiness.

Healthy needs create powerful life forces that stimulate their fulfillment. Ask and you shall receive is a natural law of nature. The old guardian protector stopped this receiving of positive light, nullifying the need as much as possible as a way of keeping us safe from pain. It was a survival mechanism. The pain of the unmet need was unbearable and the protector was necessary when it was formed. The problem is that we have outgrown the need for this kind of protection.

We all have our mystery to solve, our dark guardian to face. Every time we take a leap in consciousness, we meet this guardian straight on, as it protects old ego structures. Until we embrace our light, the shadow of the protector guardian can be overwhelming. Often those who carry the greatest light may have the darkest or most powerful shadows to overcome. The challenge is to turn this force into an ally, to heal the unmet needs and use the strength of the guardian to liberate our light. This process opens our true spiritual path. This is our training, our epic story into liberation. The personal power generated by facing our darkness gives us the strength to explore a new dimension of being. That is the power we are working with. Then, the qualities we used to liberate our own consciousness become the gifts we give back to the world.

The root of our scarcity comes from the dance of the guardian protector and our unfulfilled needs. The old guard stops the natural magnetism of our needs from manifesting in a positive way. It is so important to realize this mechanism. If we want abundance in life, to feel the rich texture of spirit, we have to transform the persona built around the wounded identity and set in motion an inner dialogue of empowerment and wisdom. We transform the old guard into a new force of creation, anchoring our strength in truth as we wake up to a new way of seeing.

The second stage of the challenge is to build a new identity based on spiritual principles, humbly cultivating a mystical perception of the world. Our most delicate dreams are wrapped up in this mysterious web of transformation. More than likely, we do not have references of fulfillment active in our psyche. We may not know what it feels like to actually be loved, to feel respected. In order to know these qualities, we have to develop an active relationship with our spirit, our own power of creation. Through meditation and prayer, we ask to know qualities of love, compassion, forgiveness and discover what they actually feel like in our awareness. The heart becomes a mentoring voice of wisdom. We sense the deeper support that comes from spiritual presence, building a new foundation in consciousness. Our perception of the world starts to shift and we discover what an incredible instrument of love we can be when we are aligned to forces greater than our ego. Our spirit shines through.

The strength that comes from this spiritual foundation allows us to enter into the wounded identity without getting lost or caught up in its interpretation. We are able to stay conscious as the old patterns activates. This is not easy to do. Just to realize that we are in the trance of the wounded identity takes concentration and compassionate truth telling. Constant reality checks are necessary, sensing our pride, wounded ego reactions and inflated self–importance. As we witness the wounded identity, we are listening carefully from our heart for what is needed, injecting compassion, clarity and responsibility to the weakened side of our personality. We clearly identify what is missing and ask for that quality to come from spirit rather than relying on the outside world to give it to us.

By using spirit as our source, we are activating a different part of our being. We are developing through our creative intellect rather than our emotional memory. We take pressure off the child mind, returning it to innocence and invoke the creative adult to take charge of the will and its formation of our world. We are invoking a dynamic active force, the creative adventurer that fills our formative mind. With this new input, the strength of the guardian protector transforms into the keeper of the truth. It keeps us protected by maintaining a connection to higher mind and the power of love.

My work in this lifetime has been to bring respect and honor back into this process of awakening and discovery. I assist those who are ready to see how to use the drama and conflicts of their life in an empowering way. Together we learn how to reprogram the old guardian forces to become beacons of light rather than lords of darkness. We work together to get a clear reflection of what the psyche is saying, so that the empowerment of daily life feeds the soul and brings stability to the heart. We learn how to utilize our gifts in service to humanity. Errol and I invite you to join in our lectures and workshops, as well as in the correspondence course, as it will give you practical and empowering tools to apply what we are talking about here.

The training teaches us how to concentrate, to quiet the mind of unnecessary thoughts and learn to listen with wisdom and compassion. It uses the events of daily life as a feedback to see just how close we are to utilizing our soul, as we are learning how to be supported by our own inner mastery. Every moment demonstrates spiritual potential. Our work together is to explore the spiritual dimensions, making them a living consciousness. Take the challenge and remember that you are supported every step of the way. Our goal is to make every thought an instrument of empowerment.

Points of Empowerment

Our commitment is to stop seeing the world through a wounded identity, to give up blaming others. We develop courage to tell the truth, to suffer short, not to indulge in our weakness or stay hypnotized by our pain. We shift the power from the guardian protector of the wound and teach the old guard new tricks.

Learn from mistakes. Create a better way of handling the situation and memorize the strategy. That gives the advantage of learning new habits and cleaning up the past at the same time. By clearing the past, we release the future.

Move with clear intention. This sets a higher focus on the truth. When we are connected, our thoughts carry great power and amazing events happen. Instead of being fixated on the story, we are asking for strategies that will allow the unmet needs to heal, restoring the magnetism that was lost in the frozen stillness.

Remember to give thanks, to walk with a grateful heart. This connects us to higher awareness where solutions become obvious. Intuition is close at hand, able to offer clear perspective. pirit provides all that is needed.
