I have a tendency to put lots of pressure on myself, often not necessary to fulfill my tasks. As I listened more carefully to my inner dialogue, it sounded just like my mother. She sometimes viewed me as a lazy child and felt the need to push. All the time I thought God was talking but, lo and behold, Not God. Its Mama”. Your inner dialogue can sometimes reflect the way you were spoke to when you were a child. My rule of thumb is that if I spoke to a friend and then felt I was too intense, I would say I was sorry. I need the same rule for the way I speak to myself. Be Respectful |
